WIND TURBINE MAJOR COMPONENT TECHNICIAN

ONGOING HIRING – Visually inspect rigging and equipment, attach loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving, using hand and power tools, attach pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures such as beams, ceilings and gin pole boom, using bolts and clamps, control movement of heavy equipment through narrow opening or confined spaces, using gin poles, gallows frames and other equipment, onnect turbine components, dismantle and store rigging equipment after use, fabricate, set up and repair rigging, supporting structures, hoist and pulling gear, using hand and power tools, manipulate rigging lines, hoists and taglines, select gear such as cables, pulleys and winches, according to load weights and sizes, facilities and work schedules, signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads, in order to ensure safety of workers and materials, test rigging to ensure safety and reliability and dip and turn suspended loads to maneuver over, under and/ or around obstacle, using multi-point rigging technics.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent;

  • At least 2 years wind industry experience;

  • OSHA ans ANSI Crane Rigger required;

  • Basic wind technician certificates (Tower Rescue, CPR, First Aid, AED, OSHA 10, Competent Climber (fall protection), Confined Space, Working at Heights, NFPA 70, LOTO);

  • Valid OEM’s and GWO certificates are a plus;

  • Valid driver’s license and passport;

  • Must be able to travel in the USA;

  • Experience in turbine erection and dismantling, rebuilding gearboxes and/ or generators are a plus;

  • Experience with welding and metal cutting is plus.
